Grammy executive producer apologizes to Trent Reznor

Listen to Nine Inch Nails on iHeartRadio

Grammy Executive Producer Keith Ehrlich says he's sorry Trent Reznor is upset about the way this year's broadcast ended.

The Nine Inch Nails frontman recently sent out a profanity-laced tweet letting everyone know he felt disrespected after his closing performance with Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and Lindsey Buckingham was cut short at the end of Sunday's ceremony.

Now Ehrlich -- who says he was thrilled to finally get Reznor to perform at the Grammys -- is telling "The Hollywood Reporter" his side of the story.  He says they let the rockers know they'd keep the performance on air as long as possible, and he thinks they got pretty close before the credits started rolling.

Ehrlich says the all-star jam lasted about five or six minutes, and they got within about a minute-and-a-half of the end.
